Set my alarm for 6am to get to Bukchon Hanok Village before the tour groups arrived and it was completely worth it. The narrow alleys between the traditional houses were empty, the morning light was golden, and I could actually hear the neighborhood waking up - someone cooking breakfast, a cat on a rooftop, the distant sound of temple bells. By 9am it was packed with tourists. The early morning is the only way to experience this place properly.
