Made it to the Grand Army Plaza greenmarket this weekend and it is peak season for stone fruits. Peaches, plums, and apricots everywhere.
There is a stand run by a family from Red Hook that sells the best sourdough bread I have had in the city. They also do these olive oil cakes that sell out by 10am. The mushroom guy from Pennsylvania was there with a huge selection of chanterelles and morels.
Pro tip: bring your own bags and arrive before 9am if you want the good stuff without the crowds. Most vendors take cards now which is convenient.
