Visited Jeju Island in October instead of the summer peak and it was a completely different experience. The famous Hallasan mountain trail was quiet, the tangerine orchards were full of fruit, and the coastal villages were going about their normal lives without tour buses. Rented a car and drove around the whole island in two days, stopping whenever something looked interesting. The haenyeo (female divers) were still working in the sea. Jeju in autumn is the version of the island worth seeing.
